Dimitri From Paris was the first DJ house music DJ in France. Godfather of the “French touch” and he is the cult figure amongst the dance music connoisseurs. One of his compilations charted in Mixmag’s top 100 of best compilations ever. He remixed Bjørk, The Cardigans, New Order and Quincy Jones amongst many others. Today - August 5th 2012, it’s 50 years since the deceased icon Marilyn Monroe was found after her suicide. Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, Charlize Theron are amongst others in the entertainment industry of today’s pop icons that has been inspired and payed homage to the legend of Marilyn Monroe.

Pop artist Andy Warhol’s painting that he created shortly after her departure in 1962, along with the series of 5 paintings he created in 1964 are the most famous salutation of the bottle blond icon. These paintings were based on a 1953 publicity still from the movie Niagara. And by duplicating a photograph and undermined the uniqueness and authenticity characteristic of a traditional photograph. He instead presented Marilyn Monroe as an infinitely reproducible image, that has become iconic as the icon herself.

In 1973 Sir Elton John attributed the song Goodbye Norma Jean to Marilyn Monroe. Same song was later rewritten for the funeral of his personal friend the deceased Princess Lady Diana.
